Huiwen Mincho Improved
Huiwen Mincho Improved (汇文明朝体（修正）) is an interesting free Chinese font that has the traditional printing texture effect. The text design was derived from the documents in the 50s or 60s, and it comes with both simplified and traditional Chinese characters. The simplified Chinese characters reproduced the printing effects of the books from the 1950s to 60s, while the traditional Chinese characters inherited the text printing styles of the old Chinese eras. Basically, it is a unique font that can bring out the old time with its richness and realistic printing effect.
The font was originally created by 特里王 where he shared it on a Chinese blogging platform called Zhihu, while the Improved version fixes a few characters and it’s being hosted on Github. This font is free to download and can be used on commercial projects. I think Huiwen Mincho is a great font to create the old school printing effect, or as a font for your e-book reading app if you longing to recreate the book texture that is similar to the old books.
