Yshi Written

Preview of Yshi Written font

Yshi Written (写意体) is a free Chinese font that is created based on another open sourced Japanese font, Zen Kurenaido. The kanji characters from Zen Kurenaido are modified to suit the modern Simplified Chinese character designs, while retaining pretty much the same look and feel to the font. It’s a modern handwriting style font that eliminates the calligraphy characteristics, leaving the bone-like structure with constant stroke width. It feels like a handwriting with a ball pen.

Yshi Written comes with the Simplified Chinese characters that satisfy the common needs, it supports 3,500 commonly used characters and on top of that fulfilling the GB2312 Level 1 characters. Since this font is modified from an open-sourced font, this font too is released as an open-source font under SIL Open Font License. Although the goal of this project is to provide the Simplified Chinese characters, it also supports traditional Chinese characters too. You can use this font for personal and commercial use.
